Sue Halpern is a scholar-in-residence at Middlebury College, staff writer at The New Yorker, and a long-time contributor to The New York Review of Books. Sue is the author of seven books, of fiction and non-fiction, most recently, Summer Hours at the Robbers Library. In addition to The New York Review, Sue has written on science, technology, and social issues for The New Yorker, The New York Times, and Rolling Stone and many other publications. She is the director of the Middlebury Fellowship in Narrative Journalism, and the former editor of NYRBLit, an electronic publishing imprint of New York Review Books. Sue holds a doctorate from Oxford University.
